Dressage Report for 2019 Season by Cath Blount, Team Manager
It’s fair to say we have had a somewhat busy year on the dressage front! With 3 coaches now available there is training on offer for all ages and abilities! We have held over 40 training sessions during the year.
All the hard work has paid off too we saw some brilliant performances through the levels at the Area competition with the Ludlow fielding 2 Grassroots teams, with some new faces joining the squad, all of which did a brilliant job of representing their branch, with Jess Radnor finishing 5th and qualifying for the Regional Championship. The Novice team did a cracking job finishing 3rd, with 4 very consistent performances. The Intermediate team of 3 really stepped up to finish 8th, and the open team were just piped into 2nd place, qualifying for the championships. Becky Parsonage smashed it to finish the day on a massive high to win the open class’s overall! Thank you to all of the riders, parents and supporters for representing Ludlow in such style! It is so rewarding to see so many doing their first area or moving up a level.
Unfortunately, championships were cancelled, but this just gives more time to practice for next year!! However, Jess made it to the Regional Championships gaining valuable experience and representing Ludlow at the next level!
We also had lots of people qualifying for the area Dengie final where Ellie Jones finished 13th in the Novice, Katherine Russel finished 8th, and Becky Parsonage finished 3rd to qualify for the championships! All in all, we have had a very successful year and most importantly seen members progress and enjoy schooling their ponies!! Here’s to a fantastic 2019 and hopefully and equally as amazing 2020!
