LHPC Team & Individual SJ at Kings Equestrian

Due to the predicted downpour of rain, our team and individual showjumping competition was held at Kings Equestrian, Bromyard over 2 weekends.

First up were the 75cm plus classes held on the 17th November with teams from LHPC and neighbouring clubs.

In class 4 our Ludlow Lemmings team of Ella Perkins riding Harlequin, Tilly Evans riding Rosie,  Emily Walsh riding Corals Reef and Freya Lawry borrowed from the Radnors came Team 3rd.  Emily Walsh came individually 5th.

In class 6 Scarlett Bailey riding Patch rode a lovely double clear to come 6th riding Patch.

In class 8 our Ludlow Swift’s team of Ollie Smith riding Bingo, Katie Salter riding Santo, Megan Caine riding Mix Up and Holly Bailey riding Penhill Pye came Team 3rd with Megan and her lovely Mix Up individually 1st and Ollie and Bingo 3rd.

In class 9 Holly Bailey and Penhilll Pye came 4th, Matilda Wall and Rhubarb and custard came 5th and Ollie and Bingo came 6th.  Holly was in the winning mixed team.

The classes became very competitive and we had some beautiful rounds from our members in the Debut and winter league classes just not fast enough to get placed!

Next were our mini show jumpers on 23rd November with Ellena Lewis and Cherriton Ridge Grenache starting the day by coming individually 6th after a beautiful clear round in class 1 and also being placed 3rd in a mixed team.
In class 3 our Ludlow Larks team of Anna Dobbie, Bertie Wall, Dylan Walsh and Oliver Digwood came Team 2nd with Oliver and Romeo placed 1st.

Our mini-show jumping competitions are a great place for members to get their first experience of competition with many of them competing for the first time or moving up to a new height class.  Anna Dobbie also did an excellent job of introducing her young horse to competing.

As always, our pony club show jumping events are reliant on our wonderful team manager, Amanda Barker and her army of helpers who check tack, work the gate, arrange prize-givings, entries and allocate times to ensure that children and parents have an enjoyable day.  We are also very lucky to have the support of some of our members who spend the day pole picking.

Over the two days, our raffle raised £138 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital which is fantastic.

Last but not least, a big thank you to Gerry and Caroline King who allow us to run competition at this fantastic venue.

We hope you all have tickets for our presentation evening on 7th December and are looking forward to seeing you there!
